Marriage License: 18 Years of Age or Older

• Blood tests are no longer needed

• No waiting period

• Identification requirements
  One of the following:
  

  • Driver License
  • State issued ID
  • Certified Birth Certificate
  • Military ID
  • Passport

• COST:
  There are two price options:

  1. With Certification of Completion certifying at least four hours of premarital counseling - $45 (Includes $5.00 fee for certified copy of marriage certificate and $5.00 fee for archive and records management)
  2. Without Certification of Completion certifying at least four hours of premarital counseling - $107.50 (Includes $5.00 fee for certified copy of marriage certificate and $5.00 fee for archive and records management)
     

• You must know the following:
  

  • Parents full name (including maiden name of mother)
  • Parents state of birth and address, if living
  • Applicant's number of prior marriages
  • Date last marriage ended (if applicable)

• A marriage license is valid for 30 days after issuance and may be executed outside of Tennessee. However, it must be returned to the issuing Clerk for recording and filing with the Tennessee Vital Records Office.
