Annual Renewal Costs
The following information does not pertain to the initial registration of a vehicle. This information is about annual renewal for years subsequent to initial registration. Since initial registration includes onetime fees, sales tax and plate options, an estimate is more complex. Feel free to call (423) 209-6525 for help estimating your registration.
Renewal Costs for four basic plates are included in the “Check List” below.
  1. Chattanooga City Sticker--$5
    Only residents of Chattanooga are subject to purchase the city sticker. Stickers may be obtained during the renewal process both online and in person. Click for details regarding city stickers.
  2. Electric, Hybrid and Plug-In Hybrid Vehicles require additional fees upon renewal. Click here for more information

* All Personalized plates are processed uniquely from other types of plates. Initial registration requires application to be made to the State for approval, and an initial plate fee is remitted to the State.
