                Electric and Hybrid Vehicle Registration |

                The Transportation Modernization Act of 2023 increased the cost to renew a fully electric, hybrid and plug-in hybrid vehicle for renewals processed on or after January 1, 2024. The electric, hybrid, and plug-in hybrid fee is in addition to the standard renewal fee. The Transportation Modernization Act fee applies to renewals only.                 The Electric and Hybrid vehicle fees are IN ADDITION to standard renewal fees. The new state fee schedule is as follows:

               ALL-ELECTRIC vehicles: 
               
               - For renewals expiring after January 1, 2024, and prior to January 1, 2027: $200 + standard renewal fee. 
 
               - For renewals expiring after January 1, 2027, and prior to January 1, 2028: $274 + standard renewal fee. 
 
               - For renewals expiring after January 1, 2028, and thereafter: $274 (adjusted annually for inflation) + standard renewal fee.

               Hybrid Electric and Plug-in Hybrid Electric vehicles: 
               
                   - For renewals expiring after January 1, 2024, and prior to January 1, 2028: $100 + standard renewal fee.
 
                   - For renewals expiring after January 1, 2028, and thereafter: $100 (adjusted annually for inflation)+ standard renewal fee.
